About

Why are our Club’s season dues lower than most others?  Black Hawks VBC has always been mindful of the exorbitant costs involved in the training of young athletes.  Many of these costs prevent talented athletes from reaching their potential.  A large portion of most clubs season’s dues comes from coaching fees.  Since its inception Black Hawks Volleyball has been very successful with volunteer coaches.   Because of their hard work and passion for coaching we have been very fortunate to pass this savings along to our athletes.  As our club grows the level of coaching is growing with it.  For our Summer Skills Clinics and for the 2010 / 2011 season we will be bringing in very talented and highly skilled coaches to work with all of our athletes.  Our Season Dues will increase as we enter our first season with coaches that will be compensated for their talents but the foundation of our club will not change and fees will be kept to a minimum.  Since we are not profit driven we will remain one of the lowest cost clubs in North Texas.

Black Hawks Volleyball Club Statement:

Black Hawks Volleyball Club strives to empower each player with the skills and knowledge to excel and reach their personal best in both the physical and mental aspects of the game of Volleyball.  It is also our goal to instill self-confidence and teach good sportsmanship on and off the court.

About our Club:

Where are we located? : Black Hawks VBC is a Plano based club with two main practice facilities, the Collin Creek Community Church on Spring Creek Pkwy and the Schimelpfenig Middle School.  To facilitate our club expansion this season we are also looking to utilize considerable court space at a new facility in Allen.

How long have we been a part of the North Texas Region?   Black Hawks VBC was founded with one 13’s team during the 2005/2006 season.  This will be our 6th season.

How many teams do we have? :  For the 2005/2006 season we had just one 13’s team.  Our club has grown each season and for the 2010 / 2011 season we are anticipating 12 – 15 teams, 2 teams in each age group from 12’s – 17’s and one 18’s team.

How competitive are our teams? :  From our first team in 2005/2006 which finished ranked 11th in the North Texas Region the majority of our teams have maintained top 20 rankings.  The North Texas Region is one of the strongest in the country where age divisions carry from 80 to 150 teams each, making our team’s rankings among the best.

Are we a travel club? :  Black Hawks VBC has traditionally not included travel into our tournament schedule.  For the 2008/2009 season less than 10% of those teams that traveled from the North Texas Region managed to earn a National Bid out of state.  Because of such low percentage we do not place unwarranted financial burdens on families just for the sake of travel.  If on the other hand one or more of our teams were in a very good position to earn a National Bid out-of-state we would at that time consider altering our tournament schedule in that pursuit.  Additional costs would be discussed at that time.

What is included in our season’s dues? :  Season dues will include a full custom uniform with (2) Jerseys, (2) Spandex shorts, (2) Pair socks, (1) Full warm-up with top and bottom and club logo & player name, (1) Backpack.  The season’s dues will also include all coaching fees, 8-10 tournaments including the Lone Star National Qualifier, all practices through the entire club season from November through the first week of May, player score certifications and ref certifications where applicable.    Season dues do not include any travel or accommodations for out-of-town, out-of-state tournaments.  They also do not include coaches travel expenses.  In the event any team would choose to make one of these trips the costs would be distributed accordingly.

How often do you train? :  Each of our teams will practice at least 2 days / nights each week for at least 2 hours per day / night.  Each team will have one practice alone where they will work with heavy emphasis on their positional skills.  There will also be crossover time for conditioning that goes beyond their scheduled 2 hours of practice.  Teams will also have scrimmage sessions one day / night per week with teams in neighboring age groups such as 11’s/12’s, 13’s/14’s, etc.

What is included in training? :  Each athlete will have a considerable amount of one-on-one positional training with each team practice and in-depth positional application feedback during scrimmage sessions.  Each athlete will also learn game strategies and systems used in club and school games as well as the fundamental skills of serving, setting, hitting, passing, etc.    We added numerous pieces of conditioning equipment this past season and will incorporate that equipment during future seasons.

What does the future hold for our Club?  Our club has continued to evolve through the past five years and we expect to continue growing with each season.  Since we are not a profit driven club any surplus revenue typically from our Summer Skills Clinics will be cycled back into the purchase of training equipment.  Each season we will be able to provide even higher levels of player development.  Developing players and taking them to the next level is our ultimate goal.

From  our Staff,
Thank you for considering Black Hawks Volleyball
